Here at Urban List, we’re passionate about putting our best foot forward, dedicated to being as conscious as possible when it comes to sustainability.
So, we are thrilled to be a part of The Circle Awards, a new annual programme celebrating the business, organisations, projects and people adopting circular practices to create a world without waste—and entries are now officially open.
If you’re wondering what the heck a circular economy is, we hear you. In short—the aim is to eliminate waste through the continual use of resources.
Celebrating progress, not perfection, The Circle Awards aren’t looking for those who get it right every time. Instead, they are looking for creative solutions from entrants adopting circular practices inspiring change and action among consumers.
There’s a collective of forward-thinking legends who bring us epic alternatives that don’t compromise quality, cost or experience just waiting to be uncovered.
Leaving no stone unturned on their mission, The Circle Awards are open for entries to a broad range of categories including Food and Drink, Events, Art and Design, Lifestyle and Technology, Health and Beauty and Fashion to name a few. Check out the complete list here.
Entrants will be assessed by a panel of diverse judges, each bringing unique experiences and perspective. Using their expert know-how, they’ll consider the innovation, efficiency, appeal, circularity, impact and vision of entries. We’re also proud as punch to have our very own Lifestyle and Travel Editor, Morgan Reardon, on the panel.
Is a business or two already springing to mind? Perhaps it’s your local eatery doing their part or your mate with a superstar side-hustle that’s making waves—whatever or whoever springs to mind, be sure to spread the word and give them a heads up because all early bird entries before 11 May are free.
Better yet, from 17 May you will be able to show your support by voting for them in the People’s Choice Award, open to submissions across all categories. This honourable award will go to the entrant who accumulates the highest number of votes from the public. So mark your cals to rally your mates, fire up the group chat, hustle those votes and show your support. While the prize for this is strictly under wraps for now, we’re told it’s not one to miss.
Be sure to check back for more, as we chat to the judging panel and showcase all the conscious alternatives you didn’t know you needed. Want to give your fave a chance to be featured? Be sure to let them know entries are open now!
