Gujarat: Software engineer, who changed identity in Pune, arrested by Rajkot Police after 18 years in cheating case | Rajkot News

RAJKOT: A software engineer — who lived in Pune by changing his identity — was arrested by the Rajkot Police crime branch after 18 years.
Forty-year-old Jayesh Parekh, who was wanted in a case of cheating to the tune of Rs 39 lakh, had got a job in a well-known software company in Pune.
Jayesh, hailing from Rajkot, had settled in Pune after getting married there.
In 2003, he used to give bulk job work of data entry and for that he used to collect the deposit.
He had several contacts from where he used to get the bulk work.
He duped a complaint, Vimal Chohan, first.
He took Rs 8.22 lakh deposit from him by signing a contract to give him a bulk data entry job.
But he didn’t pay for the job work done by Chohan and eight other people and misappropriated around Rs 30.65 lakh.
He and his partner Sanjay Kothari were booked for criminal breach of trust and cheating.
Sanjay was arrested but Jayesh evaded arrest and finally he was declared absconding.
Jayesh went to Pune, worked for six months and then went to Delhi.
He again came back to Pune after a year.
Crime branch police sub-inspector MV Rabari said, “Jayesh is a software engineer and he settled in Pune after he got a job in a well known IT company.”
He in order to hide his identity created all the new documents like Aadhaar card, election card, driving licence with the address proof of his office.
He also opened a new bank account.
According to police, in 2009, he married a Gujarati girl from Mumbai but he did not inform his family about the marriage.
When his father died in Rajkot in 2008, Jayesh did not attend the funeral.
But he ran out of luck, finally.
