Minor hockey takes center stage at The Joe

There was some great Kirkland Lake Minor Hockey Association action this past weekend at the Joe. In the photo Olivier Daviau takes a shot on Kalob Fox as Coleman Lacroix looks to block the shot.

The stars of the Kirkland Lake Minor Hockey Association really put on a show at The Joe this past weekend.

In one contest the Kohut Electric Blue Devils battled the Lakeshore Motors Blue devils to a 5-5 tie.

For Kohut it was Austin Dagleman with the hat trick. Coleman Lacroix had a pair of goames and Mason Crickard chipped in with one assist.

Bentley Boucher scored four goals for Lakeshore with Tucker Lance adding one goal and Lucas Charbonneau picking up an assist.

In other action the Kirkland Lake Volunteer Fire Brigade played against Englehart Saturday in Englehart. The blue devils lost 10-3. Jedrek Brisette had two goals and Gabe Charbonneau scored one.

On Sunday the Lakeshore Motors Blue Devils took on the Timiskaming Shores Puckhounds which resulted in a 15-11 win. Both Olivier Daviau and Bentley Boucher had 3 goals and 2 assists each, Lucas Charbonneau, Charles Charron, and Tucker Lance all skated away with 3 goals and an assist and Jaylyn Barr picked up 2 assists. Clark Lance was between the pipes for the big win.

In other Sunday action Kohut electric played the TSHMA Grant Propane Puckhounds #1 and KL lost 7-6 in a great very tight game.

Coleman Lacroix had two goals and two assists. Maggie Merrill had one goal. Austin Dagelman had one goal and one assist .TJ Szulga had one goal and one assist. Mason Crickard had one goal and one assist. Anas Chalh contributed one assist.

Finally the U13 Alamos Gold Blue devils won 13-4 against Englehart express rotary.

Kirkland Lake Northern Freedom Pee Wee team lost 11-9 to Englehart TBK. KL fought hard in the loss coming back from an 8-3 deficit going into the second half of the game. Brody Lefort lead the scoring for KL with five goals, followed by Tomas Watorek with two goals, along with Aiden Charbonneau and Aiden Crickard adding singles to the board.
