Brantford’s David Hearn picked up right where he left off two weeks ago.

Playing in the PGA Tour’s Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in the Dominican Republic on Thursday, Hearn shot an opening round 67.

His five-under-par score left him tied for seventh with about half the field still on the course at press time. Sepp Straka and Scott Harrington were the early clubhouse leaders at seven-under-par.

Hearn’s scorecard was without a blemish. He recorded five birdies and 13 pars on his way around the course.

The Brantford Golf and Country Club member started the 2020-21 season with a tied for 14th showing two weeks ago at the Safeway Open in Napa, Calif.

Hearn is slated to tee off on the 10th hole on Friday at 6:30 a.m. for his second round.
