Harry Potter fanatic who lost her business during lockdown aims for Youtube stardom


A Harry Potter fanatic who lost her business due to the pandemic has embarked on a new career on Youtube.

Suzannah Reynolds had been running a photography business from her home in Lincoln for the past six years when the pandemic hit.

Due to the lockdown restrictions, Suzannah was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to close down her business.  

The 32-year old said: “When the pandemic hit, I could carry on working because obviously there were restrictions of meeting and having other people in your home.

“But even as restrictions started to lift, I could see there was just no way that I would be able to get going any time soon.

“It was a business that I’d worked so hard to build up for more than six years and it all had to go.

“I love photography. It’s about capturing precious moments.

“It was hard but with no money coming in, I had to put my family first.”

Suzannah is something of a Harry Potter fanatic and has been a huge fan of the franchise since she was just 11.

Her bedroom is a Harry Potter shrine, with so much memorabilia crammed in there that Suzannah has been forced to move it all into the spare room at her home in Lincoln.

She said: “I used to be bullied at school and Harry Potter became an escape for me.

“I’d come home, put the VHS tape in and it would take me away.

“Even if I have a bad day now, I watch the films and it just makes me feel better.”

Suzannah says she has even turned her husband into a fan.

“We had just moved into our first house and were sitting on camp chairs in the living room because we had no furniture,” said Suzannah.

“An advert for the final film came on and he didn’t know at the time how big a fan I was and I just turned to him and said I have to see this film.

“Luckily, he likes it and has taken it on board. He didn’t really have a choice, to be honest!”

Suzannah, who has two sons aged 12 and 16, started her channel by giving a tour of her memorabilia-filled bedroom and has gradually grown her following to over a thousand.

She says she is on the verge of being able to monetise her channel and start making a living from the site.

She said: “The hardest thing I’ve found is actually sharing and promoting my content and being able to come up with new ideas.

“I’ve been sharing and promoting smaller independent businesses in my videos because I understand just how hard it is, so it’s been nice to give something back.

“Now it’s just about keeping going and hopefully making it a success!”
