The German and French champions have won everything on offer domestically in 2019-20, with Bayern successfully defending the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, while PSG won Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue.
It means both sides can claim an historic treble – winning the league, main domestic cup and Champions League in one season – a feat managed eight times since the European Cup began.
Bayern were the last side to do so in 2013, which is also the year of their last Champions League triumph, while PSG are aiming to lift the trophy for the first time after reaching their maiden final.
How Bayern and PSG reached the final
The group stages may feel like a lifetime ago, but it was during those six matches where Bayern and PSG outlined their credentials as Champions League frontrunners.
Bayern picked up a perfect six wins from six, including a 7-2 blitz against Tottenham, while PSG won five and drew one in a group also featuring Real Madrid – the 2-2 tie with the Spanish club was the only game in which PSG conceded in the group stage.
PSG then ran out 3-2 aggregate winners over Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 after overturning a 2-1 first-leg deficit, while Bayern completed their 7-1 rout over Chelsea in August, five months after their first leg victory over the Blues.
Come the one-legged quarter-finals, PSG stunned Atalanta with two injury-time goals to advance before Bayern produced a result for the ages when humiliating Barcelona 8-2.
The semi-finals were one-way affairs, with PSG and Bayern beating RB Leipzig and Lyon respectively, both by 3-0 scorelines to set up the showdown in Lisbon.
