Tip: Make your journalism collaboration a success


2020 has been a tough year for journalism. Never has it been more important for media organisations to work together than now, according to audience editor for Outside Magazine, Abbey Gingras.

She offers five tips to make journalism collaborations work based on real-world examples in an article for Poynter.

It helps to have a project manager at each participating news organisation as a point of contact for questions, problems and other ideas – and to avoid lengthy Slack channels.

“Collaborations can get complex quickly — there are a lot of moving parts and players with any project, and that gets doubled when you involve a whole team from another organisation,” it reads.
