Colombia, Peru to jointly implement plan of action against Covid-19


Bogota, Aug 11 (Prensa Latina) Colombia’s and Peru’s governments agreed on Tuesday on a joint plan of action to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in border areas in order to preserve lives and contribute to the normalization of economic activity.
Colombia’s Foreign Ministry disclosed on its website that the plan includes bilateral coordination mechanisms to reduce the Covid-19 impact on border populations.

It also contains the provision of more efficient services in healthcare centers located in the 1,626-kilometer territorial limit shared by both nations.

The strategy is planned for one year and took into account international standards regarding indigenous and native peoples who mostly inhabit the shared area, the document unfolded.
