PechaKucha Night Orlando returns this weekend – yes, online this time – with an adventurous lineup and free admission.
The popular speaker series, named after the Japanese phrase for “chit chat,” sets out a simple framework for speakers across all disciplines – they can present 20 slides with 20 seconds for each slide on the topic of their choice. No more, no less.
Having a virtual event allowed PechaKucha organizers to invite in out-of-town guests – from New Jersey, West Virginia and Vancouver – and there’s one particular name that should stir enthusiasm. Mark Dytham, the man who developed the PechaKucha concept, will be dialing in from Tokyo to give a talk.
Another notable development is that there will be a musical performance from local Matt Duarte.
The full lineup for the evening includes: Kari Whaley, Mark Dytham, Donna Rivera, TJ Dawe, Sean Killingsworth, Andrea Estanga, Luke Hladek, Kristina Di Palo, and Matt Duarte.
PechaKucha Night Orlando v.29 is this Saturday, July 18, at 8 p.m. The event will be streamed on PechaKucha Orlando’s YouTube channel. The event is free but the organizer recommend you RSVP via the Facebook event.
