Ian McNickle, cofounder of WEO Media, shares why the company moved to working exclusively with dentists. He said he’s glad they did because he really enjoys working with dentists. “I’m always learning something new,” he chuckles.
Dr. Pamela Maragliano-Muniz asks McNickle what advice he has for dentists as they navigate this new normal. What he and his colleagues at WEO are learning is that those dentists who dropped marketing during the shutdown may not have made a good decision, and he explains why.
To make up for some lost time, they’ll need to aggressively explore new-patient generation, which he breaks down into three steps: generating leads, converting leads into opportunities, and selling dentistry once someone is in the practice.
McNickle also discusses the six pillars of digital marketing. He said dentists should have a well-rounded program that includes all six pieces. What’s different today is that the “hot buttons” have changed, meaning some of patients’ decision-making points. For dentists, this can be an opportunity to welcome a new group of patients. Whereas insurance and reputation may have been the hot buttons before the pandemic, safety is now the big issue among patients
WEO Media is advising dentists to create messaging around everything the office is doing for safety. Share this in your digital media channels. He thinks a video office tour that stresses what the office is doing can work wonders for attracting patients, both new and existing.
